Toronto International Autoshow

This is the the third annual auto show attended by Jake and Ben together, these aren't the best pics, but they give you a sense of the fun and chaos the boys had.

Hot Chocolate

So the last few posts have been kind of traincentric. But we do other stuff too. Here are some photos from making a snowman in Midland with 'Grandpa' and 'Nan.' And of course there's nothing like a hot chocolate after a day of playing in the snow.

Even More Trains!

So as you can see, trains are a big thing right now. Yesterday during lunch Jakob was pretending that his knife was train - it was making choo choo noises and going around his plate. I asked what kind of train it was -- usual answers are 'freight train,' 'passenger train,' etc. But this time the answer was more specific: "A KNIFE train!" In order to further encourage the train obsession, last weekend we went to the Toronto Model Railroad Show. For those of you who live in TO, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

More Trains!

In fact, sometimes trains are just too much fun.

Trains!

Playing with trains is definitely our favorite game right now. Jakob can literally spend hours running Thomas and his other trains along increasingly sophisticated tracks. Check out the cool station, built to Jakob's specifications - it had to have a platform where passangers could wait for the train.

Munchkins

Last night, Jakob was riding in the backseat of the car with Minuette (a very cute little girl, almost exactly his age). When I drop her off at home, he says:
"Two munchkins in car. One munchkin left. One munchkin sad."
"Which Munchkin is sad?," I ask.
"This munchkin."
"Why?"
"[Because] other munchkin left."

Getting Dressed

Today Jakob dressed himself, by himself (ok, with very minimal help putting on his sweater), for the very first time!
