Okay... someone better call the Children's Aid Society on my parents for letting me hang out with this guy! [Note: For all of you who may actually want to call the Children's Aid Society, no alcoholic beverage was actually consumed by me in this photo, although I think Dan probably had a few.]

BREAKING NEWS: My Growthrate is "Superior."

Sorry about the long time since last update... My parents are currently switching internet providers, which makes it more difficult to keep everyone updated.

So, here is the latest piece of news. On Thursday, I was at my doctor's office. According to the doctor, I now weight an unbelievable 9lb 12oz (bout 4.4 kg). The doctor was quoted as saying that my weight gain was "superior." "You're feeding him cream, not breast milk," he then quipped to my mom.

That's all for now. I will post most pictures as soon as my incompetent parents get their internet connection sorted out.

Jake & Ben

Here's a few photos of me alongside my cousin Ben, at a similiar stage of his development. Thanks for the photos, Aunt Sarah. I won't say who's cuter, but there is absolutely no doubt that I'm fatter. I przesyłam specjalnje podziękowania dla Cioci Eli za sliczne ubranko w którym chowa się już drugi młody Brykczyński.

Dad loses his job.

No more bottles! After some initial problems latching on, I've now mastered the art of breast feeding. It's very rewarding for both mom & me. Sorry, dad. Better save this picture, cause that's it.

Mom and I

So, as you know know, my mom had very scary experiences in the Operating Room. Thank god, that's all behind us now. Just look at the two of us.

That's me!

Hello World!

Hello World,

I'm Jakob Brykczynski. My full name is Jakob Patrick Andrzej (pronounced Andzhey in English; it sounds a bit like Andrei). Patrick is after my grandfather on my mom's side, and Andrzej after my great grandfather on my dad's.

I just arrived here about 5 days ago. So far it seems like a pretty cool place. I came into the world weighing 8 pounds 12 ounces, which gave my mom some very difficult times in the delivery room. After 3 hours of my mom pushing, I decided to help things along by wrapping my umbilical cord around my neck. Apparently no one else thought this was a good idea, and it ended up sending all of us into the Operating Room. In the end they had to pull me out with a vacuum extractor. And in the process, they overdosed my mom on anesthetics. It was very scary stuff! My mom's a real hero. That's what my great-grandfather said, and he's been through World War II!

But that's all behind us. Now I am doing really great! I just came back from the doctor's and apparently I'm already gaining weight -- which is unusual. Most infants my age lose about 10% of their body weight in the first week of their lives. But not me! I went down to 8.3 pounds on Saturday, but I'm already back up to 8.8.

In general, my doctors say that I'm very well developed for my age. I can almost hold my head up. Most nurses who saw me thought I was 3-4 weeks old. I rule!

That's it for now... If you're interested in my fascinating life and want to keep abreast of its unfolding developments, please come by check out my blog every once in a while. Mom & dad promised they'll help me to keep everybody updated on how I'm doing.
